i need something kinda upbeat but like rock-rap similar to linkin park's early work or mindless self indulgence..

Their first album was most definatly the best one they made. Hybrid Theory ftw. I'll look for similar work.

I don't know of anything good in that genre, like new bands.
But Lil Wayne has his rock album out now, called Rebirth.
It's actually real good, some good songs to try out are:
Knockout (Ft. Nicki Minaj), Drop The World (Ft. Eminem), and
She's on Fire are three good songs off of it.
